Profile

Father Yohanes Heru Hendarto, SJ is an outstanding leader who developed himself as a prominent educator in the country. A native of Sleman, Yogyakarta, he entered the Jesuit Novitiate in 1982 and was ordained in 1991. Aside a Licentiate in Theology, He also holds a Master degree in Educational Leadership (M.Ed) from Australian Catholic University.

His experiences in education included years of teaching at SMA Kolese Loyola, Semarang and leading as the principal of SMA Kolese Gonzaga, Jakarta. Father Heru returned to SMA Kolese Kanisius, Jakarta in 2009 to become school principal; the same school he had served as the vice of Dean of Students (Sub-Pamong) in his regency period. Currently He is the head of Yayasan Budi Siswa and the Rector of Jesuit Community of Kolese Kanisius. He is also the head of Catholic Education Assembly (MPK) in the Jakarta Archdiocese Region, and the chief of Jesuit’s Schools Association in Indonesia (ASJI).
